This was my first year as an Influencer/Media Delegate at NZFW. I had the idea of showcasing Kiwi designers' clothing on me throughout the week and here is one them...
Zambesi officially opened New Zealand Fashion Week of 2017, so it was only appropriate to show up wrapped in a display of their 'Confetti'. I admit, I'm not even close to 5"11 and before my fitting I thought every piece was going to drown me. But Elizabeth Findlay (one of the founders of Zambesi) went through the collection with me and picked out some winners.
In reality, the pieces were too big for a petite girl. It is just one of the struggles you have when you go to fashion fittings as all sample sizes are usually standard Size 8-10 (NZ). But here I have styled three pieces to show how a petite girl can pull off ab 'over sized' look.
The simplest rule is to 'Show Skin'. Don't think all risque now - I only mean the parts that will elongate the body.
1. Show your neck. Tie you hair up in a messy pony or slick top bun. This instantly adds a few inches to your height.
2. Show your shoulders and arms when possible. I hung the jacket off my shoulders so there wouldn't be so much weight on my top half.
HUGE THANKS to Zambesi for dressing me! They were truly unbelievable pieces.
